FAIR Commissioning Phase A.1.1.01) -- Commission Final Meters of Preceding Transfer Line
Specifics
For details of the commissioning of the lcoal injector see topic "
Commissioning of the Local Injector"
Scope of Phase
The following sections shall be defined as "the final meters of the injection section":
- Part of beam line GHTY between gate valve GHTYVV1T (exclusive) and gate valve GHTYVV2T (inclusive). In detail the following components and technical systems are involved:
- Vaccum:
- Beam optics + related power converters
- vertical steerer GHTYKV3
- quadrupole doublet lens GHTYQD41, GHTYQD42
- Beam diagnostics
- diagnostic chamber GHTYDK3 with
- Cromox fluorescent screen GHTYDF3 + pneumatic actuator GHTYDF3_P
- Control System
- Timing System
- End user applications + related controls stack
For Details see
CryringWiki page "
GHTY Transferline Details"
Description
Goal of this commissioning phase is to thread the beam from ESR up to detection box GHTYDK3 and check operation-readyness of all active elements in this section.
- Vacuum < 10-9 mbar (10-11 mbar for stored beam operation)
- Beam can be manipulated according to expectations with GHTYKV3, GHTYQD4x
- Beam spot is visible on GHTYDF3 with spot size of XXX mm

(N.B. priority definition 1: must, 2: optional, 3: nice to have, if time available -- 2&3: optional items, e.g. for night-time shift or if commissioning delayed by another item)
To be considered: required time - minimum (rough estimate, smallest time quantity 1h, otherwise given in terms of 8h shifts)
required time - contingency (rough estimate, subjective at this time but should not reflect worst-case)
